Travel is the moving movement of individuals between far distant historical locations. Travel can be accomplished by car, bicycle, foot, plane, train, bus, boat or other mode, with or without personal luggage, and is one way or round trip traveling. It is a good idea to plan your vacation ahead, so that you can see all that your destination has to offer. Planning ahead gives you time to research hotels, restaurants and sight seeing opportunities, before making the trip. Planning ahead also gives you time to get the best price for your vacation time.
Let’s take a look at some of the different places you might want to travel: Let’s say that you are interested in seeing different places during a single vacation, maybe a family vacation or a honeymoon trip. In this case, let us say that you will fly to New York City, take a train to Boston and then take a cab to get to the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the White House or one of the other world famous destinations. How long would this trip last? (This assumes that you drive; if not, just add one day to the time given above.)
A different reason why people love to travel is because they are interested in learning a new place. Let’s say that you have always wanted to visit Paris, France, but you live in Idaho where it would be impossible to drive there. Well, if you are willing to visit Barcelona, Spain on foot or by train, it would probably still be possible to make this dream a reality.
Let’s assume that you are willing to make the journey between one place and another, as well as one city and another. What type of travel means the most to you? Would it be an easy flight, an elevator ride or a quick subway ride? Could this journey be made within a week or would you need months of planning? Would you be excited about this journey?
Once you have decided on the type of travel you would like to do and the destination you want to go to, the next question you should ask yourself is whether this journey is a routine or non-routine event. In other words, is it something that you really enjoy doing on a regular basis? If it is a routine event such as a holiday with family or an annual trip to a favourite place, there is no reason why you shouldn’t continue to do it. But what happens when you stop putting those great annual events on your list because life gets in the way? Well, travelling to a new place is always a good idea, provided that you can plan your activities in such a way that you don’t get distracted by life’s little distractions.
Finally, don’t forget to define travel in relation to your life. Not all journeys are made equal and only those that are shaped by the passion for travel are memorable. If you are travelling to meet someone or are travelling to visit a loved one, there is no reason why you shouldn’t allow this to be a defining part of your life’s journey. The important thing is that you choose a good and interesting place to visit!
